Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound strawberries, hulled and sliced Fresh strawberries for best flavor
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup sugar Can be adjusted to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strong coffee or espresso, cooled Must be cooled before use
  • 24 pieces ladyfingers Use gluten-free ladyfingers as a substitute if needed
  • Cocoa powder or grated chocolate for dusting For serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure your strawberries are hulled and sliced for easy layering. Additionally, brew your coffee or espresso and allow it to cool completely.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip the ingredients together until soft peaks form, creating a smooth and fluffy mixture.
  • Take your ladyfingers and quickly dip each one into the cooled coffee. Be careful not to soak them for too long; a quick dip is all you need to prevent them from becoming too soggy.

Layering

  • Begin layering in your serving dish by laying down the dipped ladyfingers on the bottom. Spread a generous layer of the whipped mascarpone mixture evenly over the ladyfingers.
  • Place a layer of sliced strawberries over the cream, adding a luscious sweetness.
  • Continue the layering with another round of dipped ladyfingers, followed by more mascarpone and another layer of strawberries. Finish with a final layer of whipped mascarpone.

Final Touches

  • Dust the top with cocoa powder or grated chocolate for a finishing touch.
  • Cover the tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Ideally, allow it to set for at least 4 hours, but overnight is recommended for the best flavor.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients and allow the dessert to chill longer. You can add a splash of liqueur to the coffee for extra flavor. Proper storage is key to maintaining texture, and alternatives to ladyfingers or sugar can be used for dietary needs.
